To get to Open Firmware in your mac you have to press CMD OPTION O F (alt key apple key O F) immediatley after you power up your mac. Open Firmware is like a BIOS for apple computers. Now the tricky part: what do you know about Open Firmware? Then you have to check that your cd/dvd drive is set to master, you have to open up your mac ant check the drive jumper setting, because i have read somewhere that otherwise a PowerMAC G4 cant boot from cds/dvds. If its there then you have a powerpc linux distro. Search for a folder named 'powerpc' on the cd or dvd.
